Frugal Friday!!

Friday, November 30, 2007

Since the Christmas season has arrived in full force around here, I thought I'd share a wonderful idea for all the Christmas cards you will receive this year. I love Christmas cards, in fact, we are diligently working on ours right now. Thankfully, we are blessed with many family and friends that will send us loads of beautiful cards this year!

During the Christmas season, we display all the cards that we receive so that we can enjoy them over and over again. The week of Christmas, during our family worship, we will take each card and pray over that family asking the Lord to keep them and bless them in the coming year.

After Christmas we don't want to just toss our cards in the trash and we don't have the space to keep years of accumulated Christmas cards either. I found a terrific solution!! We take each card, cut the covers into a 4 x 6" postcard and use them for our Christmas thank you notes! These are great for smaller children who are new writers. It also saves on postage and is a wonderful use for all our beautiful cards!
