Watching the american banks collapse was horrifying but it is good to know it doesn't have to be that way again. Our banks have weathered the crisis nicely. Our stock market and auto industry not so much as we are too dependent on the US consumer.
Ha! Happygeek, you say 'was' like it's all over. I think it's just the beginning. But, you know me. Doomsday and all. :-)
Also, thanks for the link to the article. I hadn't seen that one and it illustrates another thing that bothers me. Socialism/Nationalization is touted as 'see what can happen when the government isn't running things' instead of realizing it is the free markets that BOOST the economy and it's the government regulators that COLLAPSE it. When will we ever learn this?!!
Not until a sheet of toilet paper is worth more than a dollar.
Oh no no no...it's not the socialists who screw things up, it's the capitalists. I mean, this is clear because why else would the government order a private citizen to resign his position? ;) Clearly this guy who screwed GM up needs to resign, Obama says so! http://money.cnn.com/2009/03/29/news/companies/auto_bailout/index.htm
I saw this on the news this morning. YIKES!!! That Obama is a blatant unabashed socialist bent on driving our country into communism does not surprise me. The fact that all Americans (seemingly) are falling in lock-step behind him is shocking my socks off! I expected he'd encounter at least a little resistance every now and then. But, everything the man does is applauded as 'saving our country'. We need someone to save our country... FROM HIM!!!

Mrs. Taft,

But, don't get me started. ;-)
