A view from the garden

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Our lettuce is simply divine right now! We've had salads from it several times with no end in sight.
Buttercrunch lettuce... my new favorite.

Classic romaine.
Turnip greens are filling up a whole bed by themselves!
And my beautiful tomatoes have doubled in size in one week! I have eight different varieties with 37 good looking plants total. I am determined to grow a bushel of tomatoes this year!
The beans are really growing! Everything has taken off once I put them in the beds. The beans have already exceeded the tiny stakes we gave them. It's time to train them to the strings on the trellis.
More to come from our morning of strawberry picking!

Oh garden fresh buttercrunch.
I SOOOOO miss my garden.
OUr favorite salad with buttercrunch was lettuce, fresh blueberries and diced mozzarella cheese. Sounds weird, tastes incredible.

The garden looks beautiful! I think all this rain has been good for all the little plants.
